I downloaded this when it was on offer over the Christmas period, and I’m glad I did. This currently has nearly 700 reviews giving it a 4.4/5 star rating.

Clare’s Sister Alice was taken away by their father when they were little girls, and since then she and her mother have spent their lives desperately trying to find her.

Over 20 years have passed when Alice contacts Clare and her mother. Their dreams have finally come true! Alice has spent her life in America and has only now been able to track down her family after her father passed away.

The story focuses on the strained relationship(or lack of) between Clare and Alice. Even though Clare has spent her whole life wanting the return of Alice, the long awaited reunion isn’t all she expected.

Is something about Alice amiss or is Clare struggling with having to share the affections of her family?

This certainly kept me guessing. Several times, I believed I had cracked it and figured out the ending… not so!

I will definitely be sourcing more titles from Sue Fortin.
