Book review: The couple next door by Shari Lapena

I downloaded this book on my Kindle on Friday and was very pleasantly surprised. In fact, I had finished by Sunday. Admittedly, at first I didn’t like the fact the book is written in present tense. There was nothing wrong with it – just personal preference. However, I soon forgot all about my initial reservations and became engrossed in the story. The book focuses on married couple, Anne and Marco. One evening they leave their 6 month little girl, Cora at home alone while they are at a dinner party next door. Of course, Cora disappears and the story revolves around the tormented parents trying to find their missing daughter. Whilst I didn’t find there to be any huge shocks, the author kept me guessing and second guessing throughout. It was an enjoyable and solid thriller which I would thoroughly recommend.
